Are you wanting to make a difference in people’s lives and support a charity with their strategy and direction? This is your opportunity to join a board of trustees doing just that! We’re working with an amazing charity that provides support for carers, counselling, and wellbeing and mental health support!
The board has overall responsibility for the strategic direction, governance, and financial health of the charity.
As a Trustee, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic support to ensure objectives are delivered in line with the vision
- Ensure operational plans, budgets, and resources support organisational goals and public benefit
- Maintain compliance with charity law, company law, governance requirements, and organisational policies
- Oversee organisational performance, financial stability, risk management, and safeguarding arrangements
- Represent and promote the reputation, values, and stakeholder interests
- Ensure management of conflicts of interest and employment responsibilities
We’re looking for a Trustee with the following:
- Strong commitment to the charity's mission, values, and objectives
- Understanding of trustee responsibilities, governance, and decision making
- Strategic thinker with sound judgement, integrity, and can challenge constructively
- Ability to work collaboratively, interpret performance information, and contribute at board level
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, with time and dedication
- Experience in Digital & AI, HR & People Governance, or Marketing & Communications is desirable
The Trustee schedule will look like:
- Attendance at a one-day induction programme and willingness to undertake further training if required
- Attendance at quarterly board meetings (currently Wednesdays, 5.30pm to 7.30pm)
- Preparation for meetings, including reading papers in advance
- Possible attendance at Audit Committee or other sub-committees
- Attendance at one staff briefing per year
