Fresh People are currently recruiting for an Estimator to join a growing construction and fit-out projects team based in Orpington. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator to take ownership of tendering and pricing across a range of commercial projects, within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
You will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, developing competitive pricing strategies, and supporting successful project delivery from pre-construction through to handover. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure all tenders are commercially viable and aligned with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and client briefs to prepare detailed cost estimates
- Produce and submit structured tender documentation
- Source and negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop cost plans and budgets during pre-construction phases
- Identify risks, constraints, and opportunities within each project
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
- Work closely with procurement and delivery teams
- Maintain accurate cost data and market awareness
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an Estimator within construction or fit-out
- Strong understanding of materials, methods, and cost structures
- Experience working with suppliers and subcontractors
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent organisation and time management
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines
Desirable:
- Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction
- Experience with estimating software or BIM tools
