Fresh People are currently recruiting for an Extrusion Manager on behalf of a long-established manufacturing business based in East Kent. This is a key leadership role within the production team, focused on managing extrusion operations, driving team performance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, full-time, permanent, weekend flexibility required.

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced production leader from a manufacturing background ideally with exposure to extrusion, plastics, or related high-output processes. You will need a hands-on approach, strong people management skills, and a drive to improve efficiency, safety, and team capability.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations within the extrusion function to meet production targets
  • Manage team performance, shift handovers, and training needs
  • Ensure machinery is effectively set up, maintained, and operating with minimal downtime
  • Lead on-site quality and compliance initiatives
  • Work closely with internal teams across production, engineering, and compliance
  • Support continuous improvement, including process efficiency and waste reduction
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting across production KPIs
  • Uphold high standards of health & safety across the department

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial production role
  • Exposure to extrusion or plastics manufacturing is advantageous
  • Strong working knowledge of health & safety and quality systems
  • Effective communicator with leadership and delegation skills
  • Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Manufacturing experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Relevant technical or leadership training is desirable
