Assistant Group Head of IT
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Group Head of IT to support the Group Head of IT in delivering a robust and scalable IT infrastructure across a multi-site business within the FMCG and fresh produce sector. This role is part of a succession plan, making it an excellent opportunity for a driven individual looking to progress to a future Group-level IT leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:

Support the development and implementation of IT strategy aligned with business goals

Manage and optimise IT infrastructure and networks across all sites

Oversee the performance and continuous improvement of ERP systems (especially Prophet) and business intelligence tools

Ensure IT security, compliance, and data integrity

Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary IT team

Deliver key IT projects on time and within budget

Manage third-party vendors and service contracts

Drive analytics initiatives through big data tools and BI platforms

Provide senior-level IT support and troubleshooting across the group

Manage an IT budget of £3M+
What We’re Looking For:

Proven IT leadership experience within FMCG, fresh produce, logistics, or similar supply chain environments

In-depth technical knowledge of infrastructure, networks, SQL, Active Directory, Exchange, Terminal Server/Citrix
-
Track record in ERP systems management (ideally Prophet) and BI tool deployment
-
Experience leading IT through business growth, M&A activities, and post-merger system integrations

Excellent stakeholder engagement and commercial acumen

Strong team leadership, project management, and communication skills

Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
