Our client is an established Garden Design, Build, and Garden Maintenance company offering a professional service to both private and commercial outdoor spaces across London. Their work spans a variety of gardens, from luxury roof terraces in Chelsea to leafy, expansive gardens in Hampstead. The team takes great pride in delivering outstanding results and is known for providing a high-quality, all-round service from dedicated and skilled gardeners.

They are looking for an experienced and passionate gardener to join their maintenance team. This role involves working on an established garden round in North London, caring for a selection of beautiful gardens for long-standing clients. They are looking for someone hardworking, enthusiastic about horticulture, and confident in core horticultural practices. A positive, flexible attitude is essential, along with a willingness to learn and adapt to the gardens’ philosophy and principles.

Your experience must include essential gardening skills to maintain the gardens to the highest of standards. The role includes the safe use of power tools including strimmer, hedge cutter, lawn mower and leaf blower so you must be skilled in using all relevant gardening equipment.

Gardeners usually work in teams of 2 (Experienced Gardener & Gardener) and maintain up to 3 gardens per day.

The position of Experienced Gardener requires the ability to work both alone and as part of a team with initiative to deal with the seasonal pressures of the job. You will be responsible for a Gardener and maintaining the gardens to the highest standard, reflecting a sense of pride and ownership. You would also implement soft landscaping schemes for residential and commercial clients.

Key requirements:

  • A genuine passion for gardening
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in practical amenity horticulture
  • Formal horticultural qualifications are an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of plants, pruning, lawn care, and pest/disease identification and treatment
  • Well presented, punctual, and reliable
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
