Are you passionate about empowering young people? Would you like to help us coordinate workshops and events to allow these young people to form new social connections and build their confidence? Fresh Futures is looking for elevated volunteers to help facilitate our social groups in both Huddersfield and Batley. This role offers a rewarding experience to work with young people, especially those who may feel invisible and are in need of empowerment!

The Charity

Fresh Futures is a regional charity working with vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and their families, within Kirklees and surrounding areas. Our vision is that all young people have opportunities for a better life, now and in the future. We are committed to improving the lives of children and young people by providing opportunities that enable them to achieve a positive destination that is right for them. We empower families and influential adults to make positive choices, so children and young people live healthy and happy lives. By working within communities, we support children, young people, and their families and advocate for them.

What You’ll Do

  • Come up with ideas for group workshops and events that are appropriate for young adults.
  • Help us organise and prepare for group events/workshops.
  • Support us in the delivery and facilitation of group events/workshops.
  • Make sure attendees are feeling comfortable.
  • Meet attendees at the entrance of the venue.

What We’re Looking For

Volunteers should show excellent organisational skills and be passionate about helping other young people. This role requires good listening and communication skills to ensure the smooth running of events. We welcome young people who are looking for experience leading group workshops. All volunteers must be willing to respect confidentiality and volunteer within the guidelines outlined in our Volunteer Expectations.
