As a Pharmacy Team Leader, you will manage a team of Dispensers, ACTs and Pharmacists within Pharmacy Services, focusing upon the day-to-day tasks and activities required to ensure picking, dispensing, prescription processing and checking activities are completed. The role holder will ensure that the highest quality standards are met ensuring they are created right and on time. This role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, working 7.5 hours between 8am - 7pm.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake dispensing and checking duties, under the supervision of the Head of Pharmacy Services, for the supply of medicinal products to homecare patients.
  • Manage Dispensers, Accuracy Checking Technicians and Pharmacists, ensuring a high standard of accuracy and efficiency is maintained across pre and post-production.
  • Liaise with the other Team leaders, Managers and Senior Pharmacists to ensure efficient use of resources across the different dispensing sections.
  • Hold regular one to one meetings with team members and ensure appropriate documentation is complete such as return to work forms.
  • Manage and where appropriate accurately undertake coordinating Other Therapies and Enteral coordinating.
  • Manage and promptly respond to any email and telephone queries that arise as part of the prescription processing or clinical governance procedures.
  • Work closely with relevant departments e.g. patient services, warehouse and the production unit to ensure that patient’s requirements regarding the supply of their medication are met.
  • Complete additional tasks within an agreed timeline as assigned by the Deputy Head of Pharmacy Services, including but not limited to: SOP/WSR reviews, credit/debits, KabiTrack or Ulysses investigations.

Qualifications and experience

  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (Technician or Pharmacist).
  • Ideally, managerial experience with a proven track record in implementing business improvements and developing teams.
