Are you a process driven individual, with experience in laboratories or a pharmaceutical environment? We are looking for a Microbiology Laboratory Technician in our Laboratory department on a fixed-term contract until November 2027. As a Laboratory Technician, you would be responsible for monitoring the aseptic compounding centre in line with GMP. This role will be 37.5 hours a week Monday-Friday, 7am - 3pm alternating with 3pm - 11pm on a weekly basis and it will be based in Runcorn.

Responsibilities:
- Carrying out environmental monitoring (EM) program of the aseptic compounding centre including taking daily samples within production cleanroom areas, incubation, plate reading and identification of isolates.
- Documenting and data-entry of all results, following good documentation practices.
- Conducting investigations into EM excursions and non-reconciliations, generation and communication of KPIs, trending reports and state-of-control of compounding centre.
- Providing ongoing product sterility assurance through sterility testing and media-fill programs, and processing samples for external testing.
- Conducting investigations into out of specification results and liaising with internal customers and external suppliers.
- Carrying out the environmental monitoring program and incubation of samples.
- Reading of plates and liquid media and evaluation of results.
- Investigating EM excursions and out of specification results.
- Sterility testing of finished products and sample processing for external testing.
- Identifying trends in results and writing reports accordingly.
- Writing and review of procedures, protocols and records relating to the job role.
Qualifications:
- Good communication and report-writing skills.
- Minimum Degree Microbiology/related Science or relevant experience.
- Previous experience in working within a laboratory or pharmaceutical, microbiology or healthcare industries would be beneficial.
