Fresenius Kabi is a global healthcare company specialising in lifesaving medicines, clinical nutrition, infusion therapies and medical technologies. Every day, our products support healthcare professionals in caring for critically and chronically ill patients across hospitals, community settings and homecare.
We are looking for a Head of Nutrition Marketing to drive the day-to-day commercial, portfolio and product management discipline required to deliver the Nutrition and Homecare business plan.
The Head of Nutrition Marketing will support the Marketing Director by providing senior commercial product management leadership across the UK Nutrition and Homecare portfolio. The role will drive the day-to-day commercial operating rhythm, strengthen forecasting, product performance management, portfolio lifecycle planning and launch execution, and coach the Product Marketing team to operate with greater commercial rigor and independence.
Key Accountabilities
The role should be measured by improved commercial discipline, better product management standards and reduced reliance on the Marketing Director for detailed product-level intervention.
- Lead the Nutrition and Homecare commercial product management operating rhythm, ensuring performance, risks, opportunities and decisions are reviewed with pace and discipline.
- Translate the Marketing Director’s strategic priorities into practical product and service plans, clear actions and structured follow-up across the Product Marketing team.
- Bring senior commercial judgement to sales performance, forecast quality, stock and supply implications, service and device considerations, pricing, gross margin, tender exposure and launch progress.
- Help Product Managers move from task completion to active commercial management of their products.
- Ensure key issues are escalated with options, trade-offs and clear recommendations rather than unresolved problems.
Forecasting, demand and performance management
- Drive the Nutrition and Homecare forecasting and demand planning rhythm with Product Managers, Finance, Supply Chain, Sales and relevant service / device stakeholders.
- Improve the quality of assumptions behind forecasts, market demand, price, volume, share, margin and stock requirements.
- Challenge performance variances and ensure the team converts reporting into action.
- Strengthen the connection between marketing plans, sales execution, stock availability, pricing, margin and portfolio priorities.
- Create clearer visibility of risks and opportunities across the Nutrition and Homecare portfolio.
- Lead the portfolio lifecycle management process, developing clear recommendations for Marketing Director review and approval.
- Identify portfolio gaps, duplication, risk areas, growth opportunities and rationalisation options.
- Develop structured recommendations on where to invest, maintain, fix, deprioritise or discontinue products or SKUs.
- Support evidence-based engagement with region and global teams on product gaps, new product requests, lifecycle changes and commercial priorities.
- Assess commercial viability through market demand, pricing, margin, MOQ, supply, reimbursement, regulatory and tender considerations.
- Maintain a forward-looking view of portfolio health, lifecycle risks and opportunities.
Launch readiness and execution governance
- Drive launch readiness for Nutrition and Homecare products, range changes and relevant service / device interfaces, ensuring cross-functional plans are clear, realistic and commercially grounded.
- Work with Product Managers, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Scientific Affairs / Educate, Regulatory, Commercial Excellence, Omnichannel / Activate, Homecare and relevant MedTech stakeholders to ensure launches are executable.
- Ensure launch plans include robust forecasts, pricing and margin assumptions, access considerations, stock readiness, activation requirements, sales priorities and KPIs.
- Monitor post-launch performance and ensure timely course correction where assumptions, uptake or operational delivery differ from plan.
Commercial analysis and recommendations
- Develop and improve the quality of commercial analysis used to support portfolio, launch, rationalisation and product decisions.
- Build and challenge financial models, pricing assumptions, margin logic, market sizing, scenarios and sensitivities where needed.
- Ensure business cases and product recommendations are credible, numerate, commercially coherent and leadership-ready before escalation.
- Move team outputs towards clear commercial recommendations with explicit assumptions, risks, options and actions.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure commercial recommendations are grounded in robust financial logic.
Product management excellence and team development
- Line manage, coach and develop the Nutrition Product Marketing team.
- Set clear standards for what good product management looks like across market analysis, forecasting, pricing, launch planning, lifecycle management, service / device considerations and commercial decision-making.
- Review and improve PM outputs before they reach the Marketing Director, senior leadership, region or global teams.
- Create repeatable templates, processes and operating rhythms that improve quality, pace and consistency.
- Build capability so Product Managers operate with stronger commercial judgement, analytical quality, accountability and independence.
Cross-functional Leadership
- Act as the day-to-day commercial product management lead for Nutrition and Homecare with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Commercial Excellence, Scientific Affairs, Regulatory, Homecare, MedTech, Region and Global.
- Partner with the Director of Calea and Homecare teams to ensure product marketing plans, portfolio decisions and launch priorities remain aligned with service delivery realities and customer experience.
- Translate input from the field, customers, finance and supply chain into clear product actions and portfolio recommendations.
- Ensure product priorities are aligned with sales execution and operational reality.
- Prepare clear decision papers, recommendations and updates for Marketing Director review where senior alignment or escalation is required.
Essential experience and capability
- Strong product management, group product management, commercial marketing or commercial operations background.
- Highly numerate and confident working with sales performance, forecasts, pricing, gross margin, market sizing and Excel-based analysis.
- Proven ability to turn complex data into clear commercial recommendations and leadership-ready outputs.
- Experience leading or improving forecasting, launch planning, lifecycle management, portfolio reviews or commercial planning processes.
- Able to coach Product Managers while still being willing to roll sleeves up and do the work personally where needed.
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel capability, including the ability to build or challenge models, interrogate assumptions and produce executive-level outputs.
- Strong cross-functional operator with credibility across Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Commercial Excellence and senior stakeholders.
Employee benefits
- Competitive salary + annual objective based bonus scheme.
- Contributory Pension Scheme (company contributions rise with service).
- Life Assurance (4 x salary, death in service).
- 25 days holiday (rises to 27 after 5 years service) + ability to buy/sell holidays.
- Hybrid working, with 3 days+ onsite.
- Tailored learning plan.
