We are looking for an experienced and talented electrically biased multi-skilled engineer to join our well-established Engineering Department. As one of a team of Multi-Skilled Engineers, this role is key in assisting the Operations teams in achieving maximum productivity by minimising downtime through plant maintenance, repairs and improvement. Supporting ongoing building maintenance to ensure The Fresh Produce Centre remains a safe operating environment which meets the needs of the people working here.
Our ideal candidate will need to be qualified to a minimum of HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship. Experience of electrical wiring to 18th Editions standards and knowledge of motors and industrial machine control and safety circuits would be preferable. You must be able to fault find using circuit diagrams and understand what is required to carry out repairs.
Key Skills:- HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Knowledge of motors and how these are powered in addition to the mechanical problems that can arise.
- Current electrical wiring standards and industrial machine control and safety circuit knowledge and experience preferable.
Our Perfect Engineer Would Have:
- Demonstrable skill, knowledge and previous experience as an Engineer with a ‘right first time’ work ethic.
- Comfortable in using root cause analysis to determine the underlying reasons for issues in a systematic way and to then act on findings.
- Experience of working in a variety of backgrounds and with a range of production machinery and electrical installations in an industrial environment.
- Enjoys working as part of a team whilst being able to make standalone decisions when needed; has the courage to stand up for continuous improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
- Disposition must be confident, reliable, accurate, self-motivated, inquisitive, having the ability to communicate well with colleagues and key stakeholders.
- Exhibiting positive behaviours and professionalism at all times, even in difficult situations, building collaborative relationships across the business.
- Experience in a similar role within the FMCG industry.
- Excellent and proven problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate a positive can-do attitude at all times.
- Experience and willingness to mentor Apprentice/Junior Engineers.
- Good communication skills.
- Comfortable dealing with people at all levels of the organisation.
- An ambassador for operating safely at all times, placing best practice at the heart of all decisions.
The Shift Pattern Is The Following 4-week rota. Week one 5.30 to 2pm (Mon to Fri). Week two 1.30pm to 10pm (Mon to Fri). Week three 5.30 to 2pm Days off (Thursday).
