Product Assurance/Quality Assurance (PA/QA) Manager
Our Client is looking for an experienced Product Assurance/Quality Assurance (PA/QA) Manager to join their team.
They are a UK-based Electric Propulsion company with many years of experience in the design, development and production of cutting-edge electric propulsion systems for a diverse range of applications. Projects range from early R&D to high levels of maturity flight systems and cover a range of technologies.
They are looking for an experienced Product Assurance/Quality Assurance (PA/QA) Manager to lead their PA/QA activities for flight programmes and develop new processes as the company grows and expands. You will take a senior leadership role, ensuring that all products meet the European Space Agency (ESA) quality and reliability requirements, as well as adhere to company’s contractual obligations. You will have the opportunity to work with equally experienced and highly competent colleagues with multidisciplinary and multinational backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the PA/QA strategy for flight programmes, ensuring compliance with ECSS and ESA standards
- Lead PA/QA activities across the product lifecycle, from design to testing and delivery
- Manage and resolve Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Anomaly Investigations
- Coordinate and chair key project reviews, including PDRs, CDRs, and Qualification Reviews for major company programmes
- Interface with customers, ESA representatives, and subcontractors on all PA/QA matters
- Oversee supplier and subcontractor quality assurance processes and audits
- Contribute to the Risk Management plan
- Manage and mentor a small team of PA/QA Engineers
- Ensure product configuration management processes are implemented and maintained
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and reliability across projects
Qualifications and Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in a PA/QA role, with significant experience in flight programmes
- In-depth knowledge of ECSS standards and experience with ESA projects
- Proven track record in leading PA/QA activities for complex space systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with configuration management tools and practices
- Knowledge of reliability analysis, FMEA, and quality improvement methodologies
- Eligibility to work in the UK
Location
This is a full-time position in the UK.
Applicants must hold all appropriate documentation and permits to work in the UK. The company will sponsor eligible candidates for the UK VISA process.
