Our Client, Lockheed Martin is looking for an experienced OpenCPI Engineer to join their team in Gloucester, UK. This exciting opportunity allows you to work on a variety of Defence, Cyber, and Intelligence programmes, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge RF systems. As an OpenCPI Engineer, you will be responsible for utilising the OpenCPI framework to build, test, and optimise Software-Defined Radio (SDR) systems and RF applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, providing expertise in system integration, testing, and performance optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:
- OpenCPI Framework Utilisation – Undertake the development and integration of Software-Defined Radio (SDR) systems using the OpenCPI framework
- System Design & Integration – Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate RF communication systems, ensuring seamless operation within complex mission environments
- Test & Measurement – Implement test driven development strategies and consider testing throughout the development lifecycle of an application, leveraging OpenCPI for effective system verification and validation
- Software Optimisation – Optimise the performance of OpenCPI-based systems, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability
- Vulnerability & Security Analysis – Analyse and mitigate potential vulnerabilities within OpenCPI-based solutions
- Collaboration & Reporting – Work closely with engineering and customer teams, providing detailed reports on system performance, issues, and proposed solutions

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Developed Vetting (DV) cleared
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- Proven experience working with the OpenCPI framework, including system design, integration, and optimisation
- Strong background in RF communications and Software-Defined Radio (SDR) technologies
- Expertise in Digital Signal Processing (DSP), RF algorithms, and embedded system development
- Proficient in C/C++ and/or VHDL for embedded applications
- Familiarity with SDR architectures and chipsets
Desired Skills:
- Evidence of previous OSP/BSP development
- Familiarity with GnuRadio, Python and other SDR development tools
- Experience working in Linux environments and using GitLab for version control
- Knowledge of mission system integration and field trial support
- Experience with real-time test and measurement, using tools such as vector signal analysers
This is a full time position in Gloucester, UK. Applicants must hold a Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and all appropriate documentation and permits to work in the UK.
