Freja is a high-growth FMCG brand operating across DTC e-commerce, retail and export. As we scale, we are experiencing increasing operational complexity across inventory, working capital and systems.
We are hiring a hands-on Financial Controller to strengthen our finance function and help build the processes that will support the next stage of growth.
The role
- Lead the month-end close process, ensuring management accounts are prepared and distributed within agreed deadlines
- Maintain full balance sheet integrity, with clear reconciliations and supporting schedules
- Oversee inventory accounting in a stock-heavy environment, working closely with Operations
- Produce daily, weekly and monthly performance reporting, analysing trends and supporting decision-making
- Support board reporting, fundraising packs and due diligence processes
- Optimise financial systems and integrations (A2X, Unleashed, Xero), identifying improvements where required
- Act as the internal expert on how financial data flows through the business
- Develop and document a comprehensive "Finance bible" covering accounting procedures and processes
- Support the annual audit and liaise with external accountants
You will work closely with the Finance Director, Finance Manager and wider leadership team.
Experience and skills
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience
- 3–5 years post-qualified experience in a Financial Controller or similar role
- Strong analytical and technical accounting capability
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, high-growth environment
- Experience within FMCG preferred
- Experience across multi-channel businesses (e-commerce, retail, export) advantageous
