We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to join our kitchen team as Kitchen Hand / Kitchen Porter. This role is essential in supporting the smooth, efficient running of our kitchen and ensuring high standards of cleanliness, organisation and teamwork. This is a zero‑hours position, with shifts offered in line with business needs. Weekend availability is particularly important, as these are some of our busiest times.
Salary: Between £10.85 and £12.71 hour
Location: Sussex
What you’ll be doing:
- Wash, dry and store dishes, cutlery, pans and kitchen equipment to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly
- Maintain clean, tidy and well‑organised kitchen, wash‑up and back‑of‑house areas
- Clean work surfaces, floors, equipment and storage areas in line with hygiene and safety standards
- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation such as peeling, chopping and ingredient prep
- Help with deliveries, including unpacking and storing stock safely and correctly
- Support stock rotation and ensure ingredients are stored appropriately
- Empty bins and manage waste following company procedures
- Assist chefs and the wider kitchen team during busy service periods
- Follow cleaning schedules and report any maintenance or hygiene concerns

- Previous kitchen or cleaning experience is helpful but not essential

- Good attention to detail, especially around cleanliness and hygiene
- Right to work in the UK
