Freightserve recruitment are looking for a Class 1 or 2 Fine Art Handler for a well-established niche sector Freight company based in Colnbrook, Berkshire area. We are looking to recruit a 'driver/art handler' to join our growing team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Proper handling and packing of various types of fine art and furniture and securing in truck for safe transport
  • Installation/De-Installation of various fine art and furniture
  • Picking up and delivering a variety of artworks including paintings, sculptures and high value furniture of all descriptions
  • Driving a truck, locally and long distance between cities and around Europe
  • Inspecting artworks to determine how, where, when, or if to touch them and how to pack for transport
  • Understand how to properly wrap, load, span, tie in artworks within a truck to keep them safe and stable during transport
  • Efficiently handling paperwork including bills of lading, labelling, timesheets and detailed condition reports with photos
  • Communicating with clients
  • Communicating with operations team throughout the day

The ideal candidate will have the ability to contribute to working in a small team and a willingness to learn. The right candidate will have the following:

  • Clean driving record
  • Be physically fit and have the ability to work comfortably on ladders, scaffolding and/or mechanized lifts
  • Professional appearance and demeanour
  • Class 1 or 2 HGV licence
  • Willingness to work around Europe
  • Willingness to spend nights away for longer trips
  • Some knowledge/experience handling high end goods would be advantageous
