Salary: £33,853 pa

What Will Be Your Responsibilities

• Adhere to health & safety and local safety policy requirements, and other safety and technical standards
• Ensure Freightliner company engineering standards and procedures are applied and followed
• Maintain, service, and repair wagons in accordance with approved maintenance plans
• Ensure all relevant paperwork for examinations and repairs is correctly completed to company standards
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping to ensure a clean and safe environment

On your first day, we’ll expect you to have:

• Commitment to safe working practices
• Motivation to take on a new challenge and to further your skills and knowledge
• Interest in working hands on; no requirements for prior experience – we offer both internal and external training to the right candidate

Hours: The contractual basic hours for this role is 39 hours per week. Manchester VMF operates a 2‑week rotating shift pattern which provides flexibility and work/life balance.

Week 1: Monday–Thursday 0600–1430, with a 1330 finish time on Friday.

Week 2: Monday–Thursday 1400–2230, Friday 1030–1800.
