Hours of work: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift

The role

We are looking for the right individual to join our team in Southampton.

As a Shunter Driver you will be responsible for shunting containers in a timely manner.

Key responsibilities

  • Transport / Shunt containers within the port area in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Drive Terberg Yard Tug to a high standard.
  • Perform pre use inspection of yard tug and trailer to ensure safe operation.
  • Follow safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • On site customer liaison, ensuring safety and security of the third party sites, as required.
  • Maintain regular contact with the Shunt Planning team.

About you

  • Holder of full UK driving licence
  • Deep understanding of the importance of health and safety and be committed to always upholding a safe approach to all tasks.

It’s great, but not required, if you:

  • Have class 1 driving licence.
  • Have ADR licence.
  • Have previous shunting experience.
  • Have DP World access pass.
