TUG Shunter Driver (Days)

Job title: Shunter Driver

Location: Dock Gate 10, Southampton

Position Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours of work: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday, day shift

Responsibilities

• Transport / Shunt containers within the port area in a safe and efficient manner.
• Drive Terberg Yard Tug to a high standard.
• Perform pre-use inspection of yard tug and trailer to ensure safe operation.
• Follow safe operating procedures at all times.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• On-site customer liaison, ensuring safety and security of the third party sites, as required.
• Maintain regular contact with the Shunt Planning team.

About You / Qualifications

• Holder of full UK driving licence.
• Deep understanding of the importance of health and safety and be committed to always upholding a safe approach to all tasks.
• Previous experience manoeuvring large vehicles with trailers attached.

Desirable (Not Required)

• Have class 1 driving licence.
• Have ADR licence.
• Have previous shunting experience.
• Have DP World access pass.
