The UK operations of the Freightliner Group include entities such as Freightliner Group Ltd, Freightliner Heavy Haul Ltd, Freightliner Ltd, Pentalver Transport Ltd, and Pentalver Cannock Ltd.
DUTIES
- Perform all roadworthy checks of vehicles and trailers as per the Rulebook for Motor Drivers.
- Drive vehicles with due care and attention in the terminal and on public highways, ensuring maximum economy through correct driving practices.
- Ensure the safety of loads and vehicles at all times, and meet security and safety requirements when parked off-site.
- Promptly collect and deliver containers to designated locations.
- Report any damage to company or customer property and accidents involving the public in accordance with the Drivers Rulebook.
- Notify the Road Services Office of delays during loading/unloading to manage associated costs.
- Complete all collection and delivery documentation with signatures, company stamps, and accurate recording of times.
- Maintain and record tachograph discs and other logs as required by law and company policies.
- Represent the company professionally when with customers, adhering to grooming policies.
- Complete non-traditional freight work with training provided, as per the Drivers Rulebook.
- Rope and sheet loads to meet the standards outlined in the Loading Standards Manual.
- Keep assigned vehicles clean, tidy, and odour-free, with no unauthorized stickers or adornments.
- Occasional overnight stays may be required, with a night out allowance provided.
- Comply with the Rulebook for Motor Drivers issued by Freightliner Ltd.
- Attend mandatory and vocational training sessions as required.
- Perform any other duties as directed by your Line Manager, consistent with your skills and competencies.
