Main Purpose of Job:
- Servicing, inspecting and repairing of Heavy Vehicles: class 6/6a and 7
Relationships:
- Responsible to: Workshop Manager and Workshop Foreman
- Liaise with: Colleagues within the Workshop, Drivers, Departmental Managers, Transport Planners, Container sales and Container Control, Stores, Shunters, internal and external customers.
Main Tasks of Job:
- Service and repair vehicles to schedule
- Maintain vehicles, conduct inspections to DVSA standard, undertake general repairs and offsite breakdowns of both vehicles, trailers, and refrigerated boxes
- Correctly complete all paperwork required for the role in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with all colleagues
- Maintain excellent standards of housekeeping
- Maintain excellent health and safety standards
- Adopt, utilise and work with all current or future IT systems, e.g. tablets to replace job cards and/or parts scanners.

Key Skills Required:

- Computer literate with a good knowledge of PC applications; Microsoft and Outlook
