Join our London Gateway team as a Transport Planner on a full-time, permanent basis!

Location: London Gateway (Stanford-le-Hope)

Position Type: Permanent, full-time

Hours of work: 45 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Weekend cover will also be required on a rota basis.

The role:

We are looking for the right individual to support our award-winning Transport Planning team in London Gateway. As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for planning the fleet of vehicles, ensuring their maximum utilisation and customer satisfaction. You will be working as a team and get an opportunity to get involved in a variety of projects while sharing our culture and belief of health and safety being the number one priority.

Key responsibilities:

  • Produce a daily Transport Plan in line with customer orders and expectations, negotiating best times where possible to best utilise the fleet.
  • Utilise vehicles effectively with the aim of supporting and maximising daily revenue targets.
  • Provide new work quotations.
  • Resource subcontractors ensuring full induction/company standards are communicated and formally agreed, when efficient to use.
  • Negotiate subcontractor rates.
  • Attend daily planning review meetings to approve next day and night plan.
  • Ensure plans are at best cost solutions.
  • Update systems accurately and utilise its functionality.
  • Ensure customer service levels with all customers are achieved.
  • Work with our other depots throughout the UK creating a one-stop solution for our customers.

About you:

  • A full understanding of Tachograph, working time and drivers’ hours regulations.
  • Proven transport planning experience.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent geographical knowledge.
  • Have TOPS, Destin8 and VBS Systems knowledge.
  • Have previous container transport planning experience.

It’s great but not required if you have:

  • Transport Manager CPC or working towards it.
