Position Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours of work: 50 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Role: With a new state of art infrastructure and recent investment in VBS and technology we are looking for the right individual to support our Operations team in Southampton. As a Cargo Handler you will be responsible for unloading and loading export/import cargo safely, in line with customer requirements. You will be using bespoke technology to guide you through the day, all while sharing our culture and belief of health and safety being the number one priority. The successful candidate will undergo comprehensive training in operating all lifting equipment and utilising internal systems and technology therefore previous experience is not required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Secure and handle cargo safely, including loading export containers and unloading import containers in line with company procedures.
- Carry out thorough inspections of containers prior to export loading and on arrival for import, ensuring they are damage-free and meet customer and company standards.
- Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain high housekeeping and health safety standards.
- Use tools, machinery and equipment correctly and responsibly, wearing the required PPE at all times.
- Follow all risk assessments and safe systems of work.
About You:
- Holder of full UK driving licence.
- Deep understanding of the importance of health and safety and be committed to always upholding a safe approach to all tasks.
- Counter-balance forklift experience, banks man & other related equipment.
- Experience with loading and unloading cargo.
