An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Production Performance Manager to join our Engineering team. The role reports directly to the HH Fleet Manager and can be based out of either Leeds or Crewe Vehicle Maintenance Facility.
Freightliner is striving to lead the way and be best in class for Remote Condition Monitoring (RCM) and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) for diesel locomotives in the UK. Working with the Engineering and Production teams, the successful candidate will support front line technical queries and drive the maintenance policy towards a more Condition Based philosophy.
Key responsibilities whilst working in the role will include:
- Leading a team of Technical Specialists,
- Managing the alerts from locomotives fitted with RCM equipment,
- Ensuring timely intervention to prevent ‘in service’ locomotive failures
- Developing and implementing a Condition Based Maintenance policy
- Analysing the RCM data to enhance the reliability, safety and availability of the company’s diesel locomotive fleet.
- Work alongside Freightliners RCM partner (Instrumentel) to continually enhance the RCM capability across the Class 66 locomotive fleet
- Support in technical investigations
- Create and develop a ‘reliability targeted’ IPE plan to support emerging trends
Requirements:
- Commitment to adopting safe working practices
- A willingness to be flexible as this role may require some working away from your home location
- ‘On Call’ commitment included within role
- Engineering qualification, preferably to HNC standard in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Demonstrable broadly based experience of Traction and Rolling Stock.
- A background in either Reliability Centered or Condition Based Maintenance is desirable.
- Previous people management experience is desirable
