Mobile Wagon Supervisor

We are recruiting a Mobile Wagon Supervisor to join our North Business Unit.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership skills in a first‑line management role.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive individual who thrives on delivering results, supporting others and driving continuous improvement.

Some daytime travel will be required, together with occasional overnight stays.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture across your team, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Plan, manage and coordinate maintenance activities undertaken by mobile wagon maintenance teams.
  • Ensure maintenance delivery supports production, reliability and quality targets.
  • Monitor team performance, inspections, safety observations and maintenance outputs, adjusting plans where necessary.
  • Maintain training and competency standards in line with company requirements.
  • Manage people processes including attendance, objectives, recruitment and first‑line disciplinary matters.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support the Wagon Maintenance Manager with operational activities and business objectives.
  • Deliver clear and effective communication through team briefings, toolbox talks and engineering updates.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant company policies and procedures.
  • What We’re Looking For
  • A minimum of three years’ experience within traction and rolling stock or a similar engineering environment.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A collaborative and organised approach to leadership.
  • A commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to motivate teams and build positive working relationships.
