Our client is a well-established freight forwarder with a base in North Yorkshire, offering worldwide freight forwarding services by air, road, and sea, as well as warehouse and distribution from this site. With a well-established team of 15, our client is planning to continue to invest and expand the business either organically or by further acquisitions.

We are now looking to recruit a European Operations Freight Forwarding Clerk to join the successful team at their freight office near York. Your role will involve:

  • Extensive client liaison, building relationships and maximising the potential of the European Road freight client's business.
  • Extensive supplier liaison to develop reliable and cost-effective European services.
  • Calculating freight quotations for export and import freight shipments.
  • Completing operational administration including job cards and sending booking confirmation to the suppliers.
  • Raising all of the appropriate operational documentation including customs clearance formalities.
  • Managing the European road freight consignments in transit through to successful completion and delivery.
  • Invoicing out and completing the job files.

In order to apply for the role, you will have:

  • Experience in forwarding in European Road Freight Forwarding.
  • An understanding of the post Brexit European customs clearance requirements.
  • Confident and clear communication skills.
  • Proven success of building customer and supplier relationships.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Numerate with experience of calculating freight quotations.
  • Good IT (Microsoft) skills.
