Our client is a well-established European trailer operator and Freight forwarder, a market leader in the provision of European logistics services to a large number of very substantial manufacturers, importers and exporters both in the UK and in Europe.
We are now looking for a Senior Freight Operations Coordinator to work at our client's office in St Albans. Your role will involve:
- Organising the movement of freight across Europe and the UK.
- Communicating accurately in written and verbal form complex instructions to both Customers and Suppliers.
- Negotiating with both Customers and Suppliers to achieve the most cost-effective solution.
- Providing the highest standards of Customer service.
- Processing Customer orders through use of the bespoke in-house operating system with an emphasis on attention to detail.
- Compiling customs documentation to facilitate shipment of our client's freight into and from Europe.
- Building very strong relationships with our clients, principally through verbal engagement.
- Communicating with colleagues in different departments to ensure internal procedures are followed correctly.
In order to apply for this role, you will have:
- Experience in road freight, international transport or logistics.
- Excellent communication skills (Written & Verbal).
- A professional, positive and helpful attitude.
- Commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate directly with clients and suppliers and identify and exploit opportunities to increase both turnover and more importantly profit.
- Presentable, energetic and enthusiastic.
- Strong organisational skills with an excellent memory.
