Our client is one of the leading providers of overnight delivery serving the UK, IRELAND, and UK market. Their freight hubs are strategically located both in the UK and Ireland to provide express road freight next day delivery with 3 depots in England and 1 large site in Dublin, Ireland.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Planner working within the rapidly expanding Irish Distribution company based in Warrington. We are looking for a proactive and driven Transport Planner who is eager to go beyond the basics and play a key role in our wider operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys taking ownership, and wants to grow within a fast‑paced, expanding business. Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of route efficiency, leading reviews and ensuring compliance to optimise van/LGV schedules and 3PL usage
  • Plan and coordinate daily transport routes to ensure smooth operations
  • Maximise efficiency and cost‑effectiveness across all vehicle movements
  • Communicate clearly with drivers and internal teams to ensure seamless delivery execution
  • Monitor deliveries in real‑time and resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Proactively reduce missed time slots and late deliveries
  • Support warehouse and operational activities when required
  • Assist other departments during peak periods
  • Participate in cross‑training to develop a broad understanding of the business

Skills & Experience

  • Previous transport planning experience is essential
  • Strong geographical awareness is an advantage
  • Excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to work across teams
  • Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple priorities
