Our client is an International Global Freight Forwarder, specialising within the Far East and USA as their main areas. They form partnerships to freight manage their client's global business, allowing the client to concentrate on its own core business. Their management team is focused on achieving higher levels of service both internally and externally.
We are now recruiting for an Import Brokerage Clerk to join the team in the Birmingham office. We are looking for a driven and proactive individual who excels in fast-paced, dynamic environments. The key objective of the role is to work as a key member of the Brokerage department, completing import entries and circulating documentation in an ever-expanding brokerage obligations in the freight brokerage team.
Key responsibilities:
- Generation of import operational files from scratch.
- Liaising both internally and with external client base in relation to customs clearance issues.
- Generation of import customs entries for both EU and ROW consignments.
- Direct engagement with customers in relation to applicable preferential duty rates and processes.
- Maintain support for existing clients during transition or development of new business and/or offer support for new clients during transition.
- Direct liaison and support for clients regarding issuance and distribution of import documentation.
Experience required:
- Customs experience in declaration relating to import, export, and TAD documentation.
- Open to experienced Brokerage Clerks and those looking to start their career in logistics.
- Preferably degree level education or experience in a similar operating environment.
- Strong numerical and commercial skills.
