Job Overview
We are now looking for a Freight Forwarding operative with a minimum of two years of recent Freight industry experience to join our busy freight forwarding office in Chapeltown, Sheffield.

Key Responsibilities
* Arrange and coordinate international and domestic shipments (import and export).
* Monitor and manage cargo movements from point of origin to destination
* Negotiate rates and services with shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, and agents.
* Prepare and process shipping and customs documentation (e.g. bills of lading, airway bills, marine insurance certificates, commercial invoices, packing lists).
* Ensure compliance with HMRC customs regulations, Incoterms, and trade laws.
* Track and monitor shipments, providing updates to clients and resolving any delays or issues.
* Maintain accurate records of all freight movements and costs utilising our bespoke operating system.
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
* Handle quotation requests from domestic and international clients.

Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum two years\' experience of working within the freight forwarding industry, ideally with an all modes background although we will consider candidates with just air, sea or trailer
* Strong knowledge of customs clearance procedures and Incoterms.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. xiskglj
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes

Working Hours & Conditions
* Monday to Friday, 9am-5:00pm
* May require occasional out of hours working to meet shipment deadlines or handle urgent consignments to suit the business needs
* Office-based with regular communication via email, phone, and teams.
Salary and Benefits
* Salary £30,000 to £35,000 circa
* Pension
