We are now recruiting for a Freight and Customs Coordinator based in South London. My client is an international fashion design and marketing company We are looking for the successful candidate to look after Imports, Exports and Customs requirements from all over the world. Working in a hybrid working environment with 3 days in the office, the office is a modern, forward thinking company with a lot of energy and good team spirit. We need a freight expert to take control of all the processes and legality required in exports, imports and shipping of our goods around the world. Main Duties * Design and implementation of policies to ensure best practices for Global trade compliance * Customs paperwork for all International imports/exports – globally but in particular the UK, Japan, US, China and the EU, * Develop and manage freight forwarder and customs agent relationships globally to enable cost reduction, time reduction as well as maintain key compliance requirements for freight and transportation, both inbound and outbound * Creating and managing the paperwork for shipments of Global exports and imports * Arranging, controlling, monitoring and chasing shipments from manufacturer to warehouses ensuring goods available for sale on due date * Dutiable assets and ensuring correct costings for import/duty purposes This role is office based; we’re a small and quirky office open from 9am to 6pm and we’ll need you in the office at least 3 days a week. Experience required This is an autonomous role, so we are looking for a responsible and organised person with a solid background in a global logistics environment who can prove they’re up to the job. You must have expert level knowledge in the legalities of imports, exports and customs regulations. Experience and knowledge of tariff codes and Customs authorities to clear products if any problems Experience in fashion/retail background is preferable.
