Our client is an International Global Freight Forwarder, specialising in the Far East and USA markets. They offer import/export air, ocean and road freight forwarding, supply chain management, logistics and specialised services in retail, manufacturing and chemicals.
Due to expansion, we are recruiting for an Ocean Freight Export Operator to join the team at the Birmingham location, working in the sea freight forwarding department.
Your role will involve:
- Developing and building relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to customers
- Ensuring sea freight is moved on time with all the necessary documentation
- Arranging haulage with shipping lines
- Ensuring all freight is invoiced and checked prior to dispatch
- Ensuring all relevant documents are on hand as required
- Ensuring requests and queries are resolved and actioned quickly and efficiently
- Communicating with overseas agents, customers and suppliers in a clear precise manner
- Using customer ERP and SAP systems as and when required
In order to apply you will have:
- Experience of Ocean freight forwarding
- Ability to work under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
- Strong numerical and commercial skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent usage of computer/operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise - preferable)
- Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
- Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
- Ideally a dangerous goods background
Package and Benefits:
