Our Floor Team play an essential part in our guest’s journey, keeping the service smooth, the tables looking amazing and working hard to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere where our guests can enjoy the Freight Island experience. You will report into the Floor Supervisors/Floor Managers on duty and will be allocated sections of the venue to maintain. You will be a presence for our guests throughout your shift. You MUST have weekend availability to be considered.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Setting up the venue prior to opening, helping the host team to ensure booked tables are clean, set and ready.
  • Collecting glasses, clearing tables and cleaning up spills.
  • Keeping tables free of empties and rubbish, clearing finished meals.
  • Wiping down tables for the next customers and working with the host team to make sure all reserved tables are reset and ready for the next booking.
  • Keeping the venue clean and tidy, making sure there is no litter on the floor.
  • Keeping customer’s tables clean and clear of any rubbish or unwanted items at all times.
  • Emptying ashtrays and ensuring there are plenty for guests.
  • Assisting guests with any queries, or finding a host to help them where necessary.
  • Handling all guest questions and requests effectively and reporting any issues to management.
  • Ensuring everyone is having a great Freight Island experience!
  • Assisting the other staff and supervisors when required - this can be at the start of shift helping to set the venue up, helping out in our back of house areas when needed, serving food or drinks at our private hire events or closing the venue down in the evening.
  • Checking the servers section plan, table plan and ensuring tables are set accordingly (chairs neatly pushed under, matching furniture, QR codes on tables).
  • Having full knowledge of the site including floor plans, directions, opening times, menus, events and contact information for the unit site, directors and traders.
  • Changing the bins and taking them out to the store.
  • Light cleaning duties of the staff areas.
  • Following licensing, H&S and any security specifics.
  • Challenge 25.
