About the role: We’re looking for a Graphic Designer to join the creative team at Freight Island Newcastle. You’ll play a key part in shaping how the brand grows. From first thoughts to final artwork, you’ll help build how Freight looks, feels and shows up in the world. This role spans ideation, brand development and rollout. You’ll work across campaigns, social, signage, menus, decks, partnerships and the day-to-day design needs of the venue. Big moments. Small details. All of it matters.

You’ll need to be strong across print and digital, organised with your time and confident handling several briefs at once. We’re building at pace, so you’ll need to keep up and keep the standard high. We’re after someone who’s curious and with solid creative judgement. Someone who wants to make work that people notice, remember and actually feel something from.

What You’ll Do: Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Design assets for campaigns, events, signage, packaging and digital platforms
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to bring ideas to life
  • Take projects from concept through to final artwork
  • Help maintain and evolve Freight Island’s visual identity across every touchpoint
  • Turn briefs into strong creative work that connects with different audiences
  • Create and adapt artwork using existing templates where needed
  • Edit video content when required
  • Produce work that supports the wider brand and campaign strategy
  • Create co-branded collateral with event, food and drink partners
  • Take feedback on board and refine work quickly

What You’ll Bring: Around three years’ experience in graphic design, ideally within food, drink, events, hospitality or lifestyle. A strong portfolio with brand, campaign and content work in it. Good working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; Experience with After Effects or Premiere would be useful. Confidence working across both print and digital. Strong typography, layout and artworking skills. The ability to work at pace and still keep the standard high. A clear understanding of how design can support brand and marketing objectives. Confidence working with others, taking feedback on board and managing your own workload. A genuine interest in food, culture, music and live experience. Some front-end web design knowledge would be a bonus.

What We’re Looking For: Culturally aware and creatively driven. Curious, proactive and full of ideas. Comfortable experimenting, but know when to keep things consistent. Good at solving problems. Excited by fast-moving, collaborative environments.

This is your chance to be part of something big. If you’re a passionate creative looking to help shape one of the UK’s most exciting brands - we want to hear from you.
