Freight Force Recruitment Ltd are currently working in partnership with a leading Logistics company based in Leeds who are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarding Clerk to assist within a logistics team. The ideal candidate will support Key Account Management, breakdown of Pos, documentation, scheduling deliveries, and customer communication to ensure accurate, on-time, and cost-efficient freight movements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and process shipping documents (Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists/ Breaking down Pods).
  • Coordinate with carriers, overseas agents, and customers to book and track shipments.
  • Enter and manage data into our in-house systems; maintain accurate records of shipments, rates, routings, deliveries.
  • Monitor and follow up on shipment status, ETA advisories, and any exception events (delays, misrouted cargo, documentation discrepancies).
  • Assist with invoicing, billing, and reconciliation with customers and carriers.
  • Respond to customer and partner inquiries promptly; provide proactive status updates.
  • Maintain file integrity (hard copy and electronic) and implement document control procedures.
  • Support reporting needs (shipments, on-time performance, exceptions, cost analyses) and create periodic performance dashboards.
  • Assist with process improvements, workflow standardization, and best practices in freight operations.
