Freeworld Foods are recruiting for an experienced Technical Manager to lead in all aspects of our Technical and Customer processes, overseeing the operations of the business. This is a great opportunity to join a soon to be BRC accredited multi £million turnover business who offers real progression opportunities for an experienced professional who is seeking further development in their career. Reporting directly into the Commercial Director, you will provide extensive technical support to an array of diverse market leading brands along with managing a great small team, working as part of the wider management team and whole Freeworld team. Main Duties: Customer and Supplier Management Responsibility for managing all UK customers’ technical & agricultural agenda & COP requirements. Develop and liaise in conjunction with CN (Congelados de Navarra – Spain’s largest frozen vegetable producer) & FWF (Freeworld Foods) 3rd Party Suppliers the Retail customer Quality & Technical Innovation plans. Act as technical contact for all technical matters relating to FWF 3rd party supplied material for FWF customers Responsible for maintaining and updating all technical information and liaising with the FWF 3rd Party supply base, dealing with customer queries and processing product and technical information Management of the FWF Approval Supplier database & supplier risk management, TACCP & VACCP plans & audit schedule Initiate Supplier Approval review for existing & new suppliers. Update/maintain the FWF Approved Supplier database farm assurance accreditation matrix (Red Tractor, Global Gap, Vegaplan) Accreditations Maintaining the FWF BRC Agents & Brokers accreditation. Preparing and leading customer audits. Maintain FWF accreditation audit & visit schedule. Systems Management Maintaining the FWF Quality Management system. Review, amend & maintain the quality system to ensure the requirements of all customers and accreditation bodies are met and exceeded. Identifying areas of non-compliance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice. Responsibility for creating, maintaining FWF specifications & FWF 3rd party supplier approval management. Investigating FWF 3rd Party supplier issues (NCRs) and complaints and ensuring they are closed out in a timely manner to ensure a satisfactory conclusion. Leader of the FWF HACCP Team. Management & review of the FWF HACCP Plan, team & training. Use of SAP to review and test traceability of materials. Auditing Leader of the the FWF Internal Audit team. Manage FWF Internal audit program, ensuring that all audits are carried out & corrective actions effective & in place. Complete Customer traceability exercises as requested relating to 3rd Party suppliers supplied material. Supporting commercial teams when tender season to ensure FWF maintain technical integrity and visibility of supply chain. Initiate Supplier Approval review for new suppliers, update/maintain the FWF Approved Supplier database, Farm assurance accreditation matrix & TACCP & VACCP plan. Leadership and management Management of the FWF Technical Team Provide effective, decisive and positive leadership to the business, employees and wider group Seek opportunities to further automate within the business and any other opportunity to increase operational efficiency Knowledge & Insight Keep abreast of new or emerging issues e.g.Horizon Scanning. Assess the impact of any risk from new emerging issue or change in legislation and where appropriate seek to influence through industry bodies, regulators e.g. BFFF. Communicate to FWF/CN wider teams. Experience, Skills & Qualifications: · Experience in a FMCG, food quality or food distribution discipline · Experienced in IT CRM systems (SAP desirable but not essential) · Experienced people manager and customer conscious · Experienced in customer technical teams Interviews are to take place immediately.
