Freeway Recruitment are currently recruiting for Class 2 (Category C) Drivers for our client delivering carpets, laminate flooring, wood flooring and associated products throughout the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for immediate starts with ongoing work until at least the end of August, with the potential for the role to continue beyond this period for the right candidate.

The Role

As a Class 2 Driver, you will be responsible for the delivery of:

  • Rolls of carpet
  • Laminate flooring
  • Wood flooring
  • Flooring accessories

This is a single-manned delivery role and involves a significant amount of handball work, so applicants must be physically fit and comfortable handling heavy products throughout the day. You will also use a handheld iPad device to capture proof of delivery and manage delivery information. Full training will be provided on the delivery system and routes.

Shift Details

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start time: 06:00am
  • Shifts can run until approximately 5:00pm
  • Between 16 to 22 drops per day to commercial and trade customers
  • No weekend work required

Pay Rates

  • £16.00 per hour PAYE
  • £17.93 per hour PAYE (including rolled-up holiday pay option)
  • Umbrella option - £20.50 Per hour

Requirements

  • Full UK Class 2 (Category C) licence
  • Licence held for a minimum of 6 months
  • At least 6 months' Class 2 driving experience
  • Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
  • No more than 6 penalty points
  • Minor offences only
  • MUST BE OVER 25
  • Good customer service skills
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling throughout the working day
  • Reliable, professional and willing to learn routes and procedures

Preferred Experience

Previous experience delivering carpets, flooring products or other heavy goods would be advantageous but is not essential. Full training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate a positive attitude, good work ethic and the ability to carry out the physical demands of the role.
