We are currently recruiting for an experienced Cylindrical Grinder to join a well-established engineering company specialising in precision thermal spray coatings and surface engineering. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add a skilled grinder to their team. This is an excellent opportunity offering a competitive hourly rate, with the potential for either a temporary-to-permanent position or a straight permanent role for the right candidate.
The Role
As a Cylindrical Grinder, you will be responsible for precision grinding of coated engineering components to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finishes. Working within a modern manufacturing environment, you will ensure components meet exact customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate conventional and/or CNC cylindrical grinding machines.
- Grind precision-coated shafts, rollers, journals and other cylindrical components.
- Work to tight tolerances and high-quality surface finish requirements.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and gauges.
- Carry out machine set-ups, wheel dressing and routine machine maintenance.
- Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and health.
