Our client is a well-known retail distribution specialist looking for temporary drivers to cover weekday night shifts. Drivers will have to complete a site induction before work can begin. All goods delivered are chilled or frozen. Drivers must ideally be experienced and hold a strong background in using refrigerated trailers. Drivers will be required to make between 2 - 6 store deliveries per shift. You will be required to manually handle and unload deliveries at retail stores, which will involve the driver moving delivery cages off the trailer to the warehouse attendant. Start times vary due to delivery slots and delivery runs available. Vehicles are in good condition.
Requirements:
- Be competent and able to follow Health & Safety practices and procedures at all times.
- Be reliable and hold excellent timekeeping.
- Hold a flexible ‘can do’ attitude to your work.
- Good command of English both written and spoken.
- Keep vehicle clean and tidy at all times.
- Have excellent geographic knowledge of the UK road network.
- Have a positive attitude and a professional work ethic.
- Smart appearance, as you will be representing Freeway Recruitment & our Client.
Qualifications / training / experience:
- You must be able to provide the following:
- Valid Class 1 (HGV C+E) driving licence.
- Valid Digital tachograph card.
- Valid Driver CPC card.
- Have no more than 6 current points on licence (No DR/DD/IN Driving offences accepted).
Pay:
- £15.00ph basic (Paye Holiday pay accrued) / £15.50 Overtime after 8 hours worked.
- £15.50ph basic (Ltd Co or Umbrella) / £16.50ph Overtime paid after 8 hours worked.
Due to Covid-19, we are able to interview and register a driver online before starting work.
