The Opportunity

That's where you come in. As an IT Operations Engineer, you'll be the backbone of our internal operations, owning the infrastructure, tools, and systems that keep Freetrade running. From an employee's first day to their last, you'll ensure they have everything they need to operate seamlessly and securely. You'll shape how we scale our IT operations, drive automation, and raise the bar on security and reliability as we grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Triage, prioritise, and resolve day-to-day IT support requests, ensuring timely and effective solutions for end users.
- Manage identity and access management across the employee lifecycle, including provisioning, deprovisioning, access reviews, and RBAC implementation.
- Enforce security best practices across the environment, including patch management, device security policies, and compliance with corporate security and privacy standards.
- Support and continuously improve employee onboarding and off-boarding processes in collaboration with the People and Finance teams.
- Manage the full hardware asset lifecycle, including laptops, mobile devices, printers, IoT, and CCTV, maintaining accurate asset inventory at all times.
- Administer and support cloud collaboration tools including Google Workspace, Slack, and Jira, ensuring reliability and optimal configuration.
- Provide office and site support across meeting rooms, AV systems including Zoom Rooms, printers, scanners, and connected devices.
- Identify and automate manual workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce toil.
- Develop and deliver tailored training and self-service resources to improve employee autonomy and reduce repeat support requests.
- Engage and manage relationships with key IT suppliers and contractors to ensure service quality and value.
What You Bring
- You have 5 years of experience in IT administration, operations and support space.
- You thrive in a hybrid environment and are comfortable being in the office three days a week.
- You have hands-on experience supporting a growing fleet of Mac devices.
- You are comfortable with the asset lifecycle process from procurement to decommissioning.
- You have the ability to balance customer support and project management.
- You have experience within modern IT environments with technical familiarity of tools such as Google Workspace, OKTA, JAMF, Jira, GCP.
- You have a strong desire to improve processes and ‘automate everything’.
- You're confident engaging with all levels of stakeholders and comfortable giving candid opinions.
Professional Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in IT administration, operations, and technical support.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supporting and managing an expanding fleet of macOS devices, including patch management and keeping systems current with security and software updates.
- Comprehensive understanding of the IT asset lifecycle, encompassing procurement through to secure decommissioning.
- Proven capacity to manage competing priorities between direct customer support and long-term project initiatives.
- Technical expertise in modern IT ecosystems, with specific experience utilising Google Workspace, Okta, Jamf, Jira, and GCP.
- Solid understanding of network fundamentals, including VPN, ZTNA, and basic network management practices in a corporate environment.
- Experience managing access provisioning and deprovisioning across the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding and off-boarding workflows.
- Working knowledge of security and privacy best practices within workplace and corporate environments, including endpoint protection, data handling policies, and compliance requirements.
