As an engineer you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining a robust, scalable platform used by thousands daily. You will work on new features, collaborate with design, product and QA teams, and contribute to a modern, unified GraphQL API with Apollo.

Mobile Team’s Tech Stack

  • Android app is written fully in Kotlin
  • Components are organized using the MVVM pattern
  • Screens are built with Jetpack Compose blocks from our design system
  • Firebase is used for authentication

What You’ll Be Doing & Your Impact

  • Contribute to the development of new features and maintain existing features of the Freetrade Android app
  • Ensure high performance, quality, security and responsiveness of the application
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define, design and ship new features
  • Write tests, participate in code reviews and maintain code quality
  • Identify and fix bottlenecks, bugs and technical debt
  • Participate in a support rota to understand and address customer issues

What You Bring to the Team

  • 4‑5 years of experience developing production‑grade mobile applications
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and passion for continuous improvement
  • Understanding of mobile architecture patterns such as MVVM or MVI
  • Experience with Android toolchain: Kotlin, Dagger, Jetpack libraries
  • Familiarity with Jetpack Compose for building modern user interfaces
  • Experience with reactive libraries such as coroutines or Rx
  • Understanding of Android framework development and API integration
  • Knowledge of Human Interface Guidelines
  • Proficiency with Git and continuous integration (CircleCI)
