Why join the Commercial Finance team at Freetrade? You will be joining a Commercial Finance team of 5 people as Freetrade enters the ‘scale‑up’ phase of its business. In this role you will act as a business partner and strategic adviser to the Executive team of Freetrade, in particular, the CTO. You will provide commercial insight through impactful and insightful analysis to influence executive‑level decision making. You will report into the Head of Commercial Finance.

You will:

  • Partner with our CTO and their leadership team, along with additional departments which are aligned with Technology
  • Proactively highlight opportunities for efficiency, evaluating value for money across all cost lines
  • Seek continuous improvement in reporting, finding areas for automation and opportunities to create self‑serve dashboards in Looker
  • Own the annual budget for your area along with monthly reporting against budget
  • Forecast headcount spend in partnership with department heads in order to drive hiring decisions
  • Forecast vendor level spend, track renewal dates and run supplier negotiations
  • Prepare models for business cases, projecting costs and impact for new products, new suppliers and new operations

About you:

  • Recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years of relevant experience including 3+ years as a Finance Business Partner
  • Experience of working in the financial services or technology industries
  • Experience of business partnering with a Technology function
  • A proactive, self‑motivated problem solver
  • An effective communicator with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the company
  • Highly numerate
