Key requirements

  • Contribute to Google Cloud infrastructure including Kubernetes, serverless, and Terraform, guiding teams to choose the right underlying platforms. Improve the commit-to-production pipeline with faster builds, safer rollouts, and clearer failure signals in CI/CD. Treat the platform as a product: anticipate engineering needs from the roadmap and design scalable services accordingly. Collaborate with teams to integrate AI into development workflows and refine tooling and guardrails as AI evolves. Support monitoring, diagnostics, and observability to achieve best-in-class alerting and SLOs. Partner with security, risk, and compliance to embed regulatory guardrails and ship compliantly by default. Deploy, monitor, and maintain platform components in production, growing ownership of platform areas over time. Tasks Built, shipped, and operated production backend services across the full lifecycle. Interest in platform thinking and understanding of how code runs, scales, and interacts with systems. Proficiency with Node.js (TypeScript), Terraform, and Kubernetes; willingness to learn and adapt. Experience with a major cloud provider (GCP preferred; AWS/Azure acceptable) and IaC like Terraform. Hands-on CI/CD experience and a track record of improving or owning pipelines. Product-minded mindset: focus on why features matter and measurable outcomes for engineers shipping code. Judicious use of AI tools with clear awareness of limitations and risks, not just ML expertise. Comfort with ambiguity, unfamiliar code, and solving problems with minimal guidance. Scripting ability (JavaScript, Python, or similar) and a habit of automating repetitive tasks.
