Freeths’ highly rated and award-winning team of over 70 corporate lawyers have extensive experience of advising businesses ranging from entrepreneurs, SMEs and financial institutions to FTSE 100 companies. Operating from 12 UK locations, the team provide advice and guidance on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, fundraising, private equity, equity capital markets, due diligence, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, reorganisations and demergers, corporate structures and governance. The Corporate team in Oxford is led by Tom Walker who is recognised as a Leading Partner in The Legal 500 (2026 edition) in Corporate and Commercial Law, who advises on a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. Tom acts for a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurial growth companies through to large national and international organisations. Supported by the wider national Corporate team, the Oxford practice benefits from a strong reputation in the local market whilst offering clients access to sector‑leading expertise and a truly national platform. The team therefore offers a unique blend of top‑level legal expertise and extensive market reach, delivered through a respected local presence.
About the Role
The Oxford Corporate team now have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join their senior management team as a Director or Partner. The team sees this appointment as key to driving the next phase of its growth. Ideally, candidates would have an existing following, but someone who has a clear plan as to how they would help create future growth would also be considered. Candidates with at least 8+ PQE are invited to apply. You will be involved in the full range of corporate work including mergers and acquisitions, shareholders’ agreements, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and private equity transactions. The team works seamlessly across our offices, and you will be a strong team player with a proven track record of developing client relationships, winning work and nurturing talent.
