Overview

The Events Manager will design, lead and professionalise the firm’s events programme, bringing strategic focus, consistency and commercial alignment to a currently decentralised landscape. You will take ownership of flagship, tier 1 events while creating the frameworks, standards and support model that enable BD and office teams to deliver high‑quality local events across the firm. This role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on delivery and includes line management of an Events Executive, building capability and momentum within the events function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and own the firmwide events strategy, including a clear tiered model aligned to client, market and campaign priorities.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of flagship tier 1 events, ensuring they are high‑impact, well‑executed and aligned to brand and commercial objectives.
  • Introduce governance, standards and planning frameworks that drive quality, consistency and accountability across all offices.
  • Build and manage an annual events calendar that rationalises volume and focuses investment on priority activity.
  • Act as a central events expert, supporting BD and office teams with guidance, tools and best practice for tier 2 and tier 3 events.
  • Collaborate with BD, marketing and subject matter experts to shape compelling event content, formats and delegate experiences.
  • Ensure events are integrated into wider marketing campaigns and client development activity.
  • Introduce measurement and evaluation processes to assess impact, ROI and client engagement, using insight to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, suppliers and risk effectively, ensuring value for money and compliance with governance, brand and data standards.
  • Line manage and develop the Events Executive, setting clear priorities and supporting professional growth.

About You

  • Proven experience designing and delivering B2B event programmes, ideally within a professional services or multi‑office environment.
  • Strong track record leading high‑profile events and influencing stakeholders without direct line authority.
  • Experience developing event strategies, frameworks and standards to bring structure to decentralised activity.
  • Excellent project management skills, combining strategic planning with hands‑on delivery.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders, providing clear advice and practical guidance.
  • Commercially minded, with experience managing budgets, suppliers and measuring event effectiveness.
  • Highly organised, adaptable and calm under pressure, with strong prioritisation skills.
  • Experience line managing or mentoring junior team members.
  • Typically 5–7+ years’ relevant events experience.
