The Freeths LLP Planning and Environment Group is a truly multi-disciplinary team of 42 professionals comprising planning lawyers, environmental lawyers, advocates and planning consultants operating across all development sectors. The Group is recognised for its depth of knowledge, breadth of experience and for providing clear, pragmatic and commercial advice and support in navigating the planning process – from the inception of a proposal through to delivery – in order to secure the optimal outcome for our fantastic clients.
This position has arisen due to growth. Instructions are on the increase and so we are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate planning lawyer to join our friendly, supportive and ambitious team ideally in Leeds, but other offices will also be considered.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working on Section 106 agreements, highways and other statutory agreements.
- Advising on planning, highways and associated law.
- Conducting due diligence for property and corporate transactions.
- Handling contentious planning work such as Planning Inquiries / hearings, Court challenges and Judicial Reviews.
- Participating in DCOs and large regeneration schemes.
Desired experience and qualifications:
- Ideally 3-8 years PQE.
- Experience with Section 106 agreements, highways, statutory agreements, planning and highways law.
- Due diligence experience in property and corporate transactions.
- Experience in Planning Inquiries / hearings, Court challenges and Judicial Reviews.
- Experience in DCOs and large regeneration schemes.
