Freeths' national and award-winning Commercial Disputes Resolution (CDR) team comprises over 100 lawyers across our 13 national offices. This team was awarded UK Litigation Team of the Year by The Lawyer Awards 2020 and the equivalent award by The British Legal Awards 2020 for taking on a major High Court group action against the Post Office, which exposed one of the largest miscarriages of justice in British legal history.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within the new eDiscovery capability for Freeths’ Disputes division. The successful candidate will support the eDiscovery PM across data scoping, preservation, and collection; provide operational assistance for data processing, review management, and production; and engage with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the eDiscovery services at Freeths.
The eDiscovery function sits within the CDR division, reporting into the National Head of Dispute Resolution, James Hartley. This role directly reports into the eDiscovery lead, Jake Pennington-Slater.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Growing the eDiscovery Function
- Supporting the eDiscovery PM with:
- Collaborating with key internal stakeholders to expand the scope of technical and supporting eDiscovery services provided;
- Managing the requirements and portfolio mix for the firm’s network of external support services, having regard to business requirements;
- Engaging with internal stakeholders across the firm to establish awareness, understanding, and adoption of eDiscovery capabilities;
- Ongoing development of documentation of protocols, processes, and other resources to present within the firm’s knowledge systems and BD literature, to ensure the firm works effectively with the function, and communicates its successes and value.
- Delivery of technical and consulting eDiscovery services to legal teams, having regard to each stage of the EDRM, with a focus on:
- Supporting legal teams with data scoping;
- Data preservation and forensic collection services;
- Data processing and quality assurance workflows;
- Delivery of operational support across the Relativity suite;
- Provision of disclosures/productions.

- 2+ years practical experience in eDiscovery.

- RCA Qualification.
