About The Team

About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team within the new eDiscovery capability for Freeths’ Disputes division. The successful candidate will support the eDiscovery PM across data scoping, preservation, and collection; provide operational assistance for data processing, review management, and production; and engage with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the eDiscovery services at Freeths. This role will suit an individual with circa 1+ years experience of working in a similar role.
The eDiscovery function sits within the CDR division, reporting into the National Head of Dispute Resolution, James Hartley. This role directly reports into the eDiscovery lead, Jake Pennington-Slater. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Growing the eDiscovery Function

  • Supporting the eDiscovery PM with:
    • Collaborating with key internal stakeholders to expand the scope of technical and supporting eDiscovery services provided;
    • Managing the requirements and portfolio mix for the firm’s network of external support services, having regard to business requirements;
    • Engaging with internal stakeholders across the firm to establish awareness, understanding, and adoption of eDiscovery capabilities; and
    • Ongoing development of documentation of protocols, processes, and other resources to present within the firm’s knowledge systems and BD literature, to ensure the firm works effectively with the function, and communicates its successes and value.
Delivering the eDiscovery Function
  • Delivery of technical and consulting eDiscovery services to legal teams, having regard to each stage of the EDRM, with a focus on:
    • Supporting legal teams with data scoping;
    • Data preservation and forensic collection services;
    • Data processing and quality assurance workflows;
    • Delivery of operational support across the Relativity suite;
    • Provision of disclosures/productions.
  • Ensuring that projects are carried out to the best standard, within agreed timeframes, with close adherence to agreed budgets, protocols, and processes.
  • Providing creative ideas and solutions to technical challenges, ensuring the legal teams are taking best advantage of the technical capabilities of the available tools.
  • Providing clear and proactive communications/collaboration with eDiscovery PM, legal teams and clients on the structure and progress of delivery, including effective expectation management and transparency/auditability of processes.
  • Supporting eDiscovery PM in providing regular training and awareness sessions in relation to new capabilities that will allow for continuous improvement in management of eDiscovery projects.
