About The Team

Freeths’ highly rated and award-winning team of over 70 corporate lawyers have extensive experience of advising businesses ranging from entrepreneurs, SMEs, financial institutions to FTSE 100. Operating from 13 UK locations the team provide advice and guidance on mergers and acquisitions, disposals, fundraising, private equity, equity capital markets, due diligence, joint ventures, shareholder arrangements, reorganisations and demergers, corporate structures and governance.

The Corporate team in Sheffield is led by Peter Crawford, who is listed as a Recommended Lawyer and a Leading Partner in The Legal 500 (2025 edition) in Corporate and Commercial Law. Peter has significant experience of company acquisitions and disposals, fund-raises and restructurings. He acts for a wide portfolio of clients, from high-growth University spin-outs to multi-nationals.

Lisa Wallis is another leading figure within the Sheffield based team and is also listed as a Recommended Lawyer and Next Generation Partner in The Legal 500 (2025 edition) in Corporate and Commercial. Lisa’s clients range across a number of sectors including manufacturing, engineering and tech.

About The Role

The Sheffield Corporate team now have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join their senior management as a Director or Partner. The team sees this appointment as key to driving the next phase of its growth. Ideally candidates would have an existing following – but someone who has a clear plan as to how they would help create future growth would also be considered.

Candidates with at least 7+ PQE are invited to apply. You will be involved in the whole range of corporate work including mergers and acquisitions, shareholders’ agreements, corporate restructurings, joint ventures and private equity. The team work seamlessly across our offices, and you will be a good team player, with a strong track record in nurturing and developing talent.
