Freeths highly rated and award-winning team of over 150 real estate lawyers operate from 13 UK locations. Our Bristol Real Estate team covers every aspect of real estate work including property finance, commercial and residential development, fund management and regeneration projects. In addition, the team has a strong sector focused client base such as transport and logistics, clean energy, telecoms, waste and sustainability, thus offering an exciting element to the work.
Adam Watson, Duncan Tringham and Michael Bray are well-regarded Partners in the Bristol office and they manage high-value and complex real estate work on a national and local basis. Adam Watson is our Bristol office Managing Partner with a wealth of experience in high-value commercial real estate, working across major sectors and industries. Duncan is listed as a Recommended Lawyer and recognised as a Leading Partner in The Legal 500 (2025 edition) and also listed as a Leading Individual in Chambers & Partners (2025 edition). Michael specialises in transport and logistics, development and regeneration projects, and he works closely with private and public bodies on a range of real estate matters.
Bristol now holds a very successful and entrepreneurial team and within that there is a variety of sector focused specialisms. We are, therefore, now seeking an Associate with strong real estate experience.
About the role
The team are in expansion mode and are looking for a further lawyer to join them. The team need an enthusiastic lawyer with circa 1 years’ PQE+, gained within a strong commercial practice. The role can be adapted to the level of experience of the chosen candidate.
Your skills and qualifications
- Have directly relevant previous experience and have the correct level of post qualified experience (PQE) for the role in question.
- To have a strong commercial acumen and understanding of the industry.
- A proven track record of competent financial management, ability to meet client expectations and sound case management skills.
- To be a self-motivated, friendly individual with excellent interpersonal skills.
- To be able to consistently demonstrate and embody the firm’s values.
- Good IT skills, experience, and confidence with using case management systems, electronic time recording and general Microsoft packages.
Key Expectations
- To work to a consistently high level and to provide an exemplary level of client service and care.
- Competent financial management and commercial awareness, including accurate time recording, billing, achievement of firm delivered targets and management of WIP.
- To contribute actively toward business development opportunities to ensure the retention of existing clients and expansion of business.
- To ensure at all times that you maintain up to date technical expertise.
- To be competent at all times in accordance with the SRA competence standards.
