The Team:

Our award-winning national Commercial Dispute Resolution team is made up of over 100 lawyers across our 13 UK offices.

The Sheffield Commercial Dispute Resolution team enjoys a formidable reputation within the Sheffield City Region and beyond. It is recognised as a leading practice within Legal 500 and Chambers. As well as acting for many of the region’s leading businesses, the team boasts an exceptional roster of national and international clients across multiple sectors including manufacturing, technology, hospitality, food and sports. The team are results-driven for their clients, providing commercial and pragmatic advice which provides real value and is key to the long-term strategic relationships which the team enjoys with its clients.

The team handles a very broad and interesting spectrum of work specialising in particular in complex and high value disputes arising across a range of areas including but not limited to:

  • Shareholder, partnership and trusts.

  • Commercial contracts and warranties.

  • Sale and purchase agreements and completion accounts.

  • Professional negligence claims.

  • Enforcement of restrictive covenants.

  • Fraud and misrepresentation.

  • Injunctive relief, including freezing orders.

  • Contentious insolvency and enforcement.

  • Reputational management, including defamation

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and entrepreneurial solicitor who can demonstrate excellent legal capability with a strategic and commercial mindset. The breadth of work handled by the team means they are open-minded as to whether the candidate has previously specialised in a particular area of disputes work or has had a general practice. The candidate will be willing and able to quickly immerse themselves in a varied and interesting caseload.

Ultimately, the right candidate will be adaptable, organised, hardworking, enthusiastic, and eager to learn with at least 4 years’ experience in commercial disputes work and an interest in business development.
